Students Connect to Volunteer Opportunities... The Volunteer Resource Center (VRC) provides a free service 1-800-volunteer.org, an electronic center for volunteerism throughout Bay County. We help volunteers find opportunities, connect nonprofit organizations with resources and assist businesses with their community involvement efforts. Get Connected to Upcoming Events Family Volunteer Day. United Way Volunteers celebrated National Family Volunteer, on November 21. Over 100 student and adult volunteers joined United Way of Bay County from 10 am to noon at the Boys and Girls Clubs in Bay City. The Club is a Partner Agency of United Way and our volunteers worked with youth members and play educational games, read to children, provided school supplies, decorated for the holidays and clean. Volunteers enjoyed pizza, cake and Disney give-aways during this event sponsored by a grant through the Hands On Network.
Awards Michigan Student Service Award Over the course of their four years in high school, students complete and document a significant number of hours of non-paid community service. These activities must meet a recognized community need and be undertaken through non-profit organizations, government programs, community groups or schools in Bay County. Students that meet a
required amount of hours will receive a medallion of
distinction to wear with the graduation cap and gown and
a certificate for commitment to service from the
Volunteer Resource Center. All Bay County area high
schools are participating in the program. For more
