Volunteer

Give your time to make Bay County a better place.

ALL VOLUNTEERS

Each one of us has special talents. Things we can do to help. Put your talents and interests to work for Bay County. Volunteer! United Way is the single best way for you to get connected to programs and agencies that need you. Whether you volunteer on a regular basis, or help with special events, you can  volunteer for one of our programs.

Community wide volunteer events are coordinated through United Way such as our Day of Caring and National Volunteer Week.

CONNECTING VOLUNTEERS AND AGENCIES

Volunteers help make a difference, whether you have a few hours a month or one day a year we can help you connect. We provide a free on-line service where volunteers and non-profit agencies can connect. GovolunteerNOW offers hundreds of short and long term opportunities in the Bay, Midland, and Saginaw County Region.

Agencies have the ability to list their volunteer needs and volunteers can go here to find volunteer opportunities throughout our region.

Seniors

RSVP Program

RSVP Program

Any Bay County resident, age 55 and older can participate in this service group. Volunteers are paired with a non profit an apply the skills they have learned in the workforce to addressing social needs.

This program has partnered with on average, 20 non profit agencies and gives a variety of opportunities to choose from. There are health benefits to volunteering and increasing social activity and gives seniors a sense of place in their community.

Tax Filing Program

Tax Filing Program

We provide a free tax program for any senior, low income (below $43,000 annually), or disabled individual in Bay County. People in our community go without filing their taxes due to tough economic times and hundreds file their taxes improperly because they cannot afford to pay someone who is trained to do so.

Volunteers are needed as many Bay County residents use our program and there will be an increase in those needing help for the 2018 tax filing season. The program runs February 4 through April 15.

Corporations

Non-Profits

Non-Profits

If you are in need of a group project, United Way of Bay County will work with other non profits to find a placement that works best, based on your group size and interest.

This will save your businesses the time by allowing us to navigate potential projects.

Tuesday Toolmen

Tuesday Toolmen

Our goal of this program is to help individuals in Bay County remain as independent and self sufficient as possible, keeping them in their homes longer and helping with minor home repairs and maintenance they can no longer do.

Our Tuesday Toolmen help with plumbing, electrical, and other miscellaneous repairs, such as doors, locks, dryer vents, filters, and more. This is a program that helps fill the gaps in services throughout Bay County.
